Membership

Classes of membership are:

Associate members:  New members that have been proposed and seconded by current members. An associate member can be elected for ordinary membership after 5 years.

Ordinary members: Ordinary membership is awarded, via a request to the committee, to Associate members that have completed 5 consecutive years as an Associate member.

Honorary members: People who have performed valuable service to the club for a period of 10 years or more.

Temporary Members:  This membership is time-limited to a maximum of 6 months so may be particularly useful to those working in the area for a short period of time.  The cost of the Temporary membership will be a proportion of the annual membership (calculated on a monthly basis).

The outline procedure for election to membership is:

1.  Every candidate for membership must be proposed by one ordinary or honorary member of the club, and seconded by another.   The secretary will display the application on the club notice board for at least 48 hours in order that any objections might be raised.

2.  Election to membership will be by the committee, whose decision will be final.

3.  No person will be afforded membership without an interval of at least 48 hours between nomination and admission.
